our approach
An identity system is the building block of most successful brands. A strong logomark should be both timeless yet contemporary. A well-designed identity system builds equity in the marketplace and elevates the business, product or service to a new level of recognition and purpose. From the initial concepts to project completion, we create identities that stand out in the crowd and stand the test of time and change.

Consistency is the key to successful brands. While a logomark can be considered the kernel of a brand's growth, its value is established and made credible in the marketplace through the use of effective sales and marketing branches. We help our clients examine their existing logo and strategize on the best ways to effectively apply their brand forward throughout print and interactive media.

Design has the power to decorate a space, inform the public, drive sales and most importantly, inspire change. We believe that "design" is more than a trend or catch phrase. It is more than a color scheme or slogan. Design permeates our culture. We live and breathe it in the decisions we make throughout our daily routines. Whether it be a brand of toothpaste or wall paint, chances are, someone has designed, packaged and strategically positioned that product to entice us to purchase it over others.

But good design is much more than mere decoration. It is, more importantly, about effective communication. From the smallest pixel of an image, to the point size of the letterform, we believe that every business, brand and individual has a message that needs crafting. We help businesses identify who they are, what they want to say, and use the power of the image and word to creatively craft their message to the right audience.

just completed

We just launched the new Web site for Abilities Network, a non-profit organization that provides customized services to children, adults and families of differing abilities, "Seeing abilities, not disabilities." We are currently developing supporting advertising and a retractable banner stand in conjunction with the new look. Check out the new site.

Working with Silverpoint, Inc. we recently created several design proposals for one their clients, Brentwood School in Los Angeles. The selected design utilized existing elements from the brand, including the hexagon and Trajan typeface. View at full size + additional design proposal

Working with About Faces Day Spa & Salon, we just completed a new Flash-based project for their corporate Web site. The additions included Flash-enabled photo galleries showcasing Makeovers and Hair Styles of the season. Driven by Flash and PHP, a user can thumb through different hair styles, "before" and "after" shots, refer a friend, vote for a favorite and upload a photo and apply to be a model in upcoming shoots. Thanks to the rest of the team for a great effort in getting these pages up and running! Take a look

W orking closely with Baltimore-based IT global testing leader, Prometric™, we developed a complete multimedia and print suite to secure a lucrative global contract with Cisco. The concept for the entire package revolved around Cisco's tagline, "Welcome to the human network." Both the CD artwork and the interactive presentation reflected the global reach of both companies by utilizing a visual "timeline" of the globe, animating and moving simultaneously through key areas of the world, from right to left. Starting out in Cisco's San Francisco, the animation moves through the key 9 points of the presentation, while wrapping around the globe, and eventually making its way back to California with the message "Welcome back." The widespread success our work has led to its translation into several languages and shown at key global offices.

We recently designed a promotional mini-site for electro-pop band Moenia, in conjuction with the release of their new album, Solar. The landing page featured a rotating galaxy and solar system as an interactive navigation tool. A blog and fan message board are in the works. MoeniaSolar.com

Formerly Thomson Prometric™, Prometric™ recently partnered with Pixels+Points to create a complete branding initiative for their presentation to Microsoft Corporation. We designed and developed a collateral package which included data sheets, a CD-ROM package, proposal cover and pocket folder. Utilziing the "starburst" element from the Thomson Prometric logotype as a base, we branded both the print package and the multimedia presentation which illustrated the global IT partnership the two companies share. Prometric's pitch, along with the collateral items and CD-ROM interactive, created quite the impact, so much so, that Prometric is now the sole source Microsoft vendor for all of their IT test certification centers around the globe.Congratulations to the Prometric sales team.

Logomark for the 2007 Baltimore Rowing Championships, an annual regatta featuring local high school rowing teams.

Pixels+Points recently branded a new Prometric testing initiative, Test Drive. Test Drive serves as a simulation of a real-world testing environment and helps ease a candidate's pre-testing jitters.

In collaboration with Studio Spear, we've just finished the "revamping" of Pierce's Pitt Bar-B-Que Web site. The new homepage features a more prominent navigation system with animated icons and dropdowns, flames and smoke. Utilizing the exisiting design and layout as a base, we added textures and wood grain patterns, adding depth to the homepage and more actively directing the viewer to the site's intended target...buying sauce (in both original and honey!) Sauce it up!

We've just completed a logomark and Web site for Metroscape Development, a Baltimore-based urban development company specializing in building contemporary homes in Baltimore City's historic neighborhoods. Canton Heights is a new development featuring contemporary townhomes at the height of the Highlandtown/Canton neighborhoods. Take a look

We've just completed the new Web site for MV Fitness in Mt Vernon. MV Fitness is the sister gym of the popular Federal Hill Fitness and will open in early 2008. Take a look

Pixels+Points recently branded the newly reopened Pazza Luna in Locust Point. We created their new logo, complete identity package, lunch and dinner menus, ongoing ad campaigns and Web site. www.pazzaluna.us.

in the works

Pixels+Points is currently working with Compete-At, a Maryland-based start-up with a product suite that helps athletes, event organizers and National Governing Bodies register, create and manage sporting events online. We are developing a new look for their corporate Web site and accompanying verticals, (i.e. sailing, curling and archery).

With the recent success of Spring Awakening and Duncan Sheik's accompanying score, we recently created a design proposal for a potential resissuing and repackaging of Sheik's last album "White Limousine". The new packaging would be a traditional jewel case design with a black & "white" slip cover. Removal of the slip cover reveals the amazing full-color imagery throughout. An 8-page booklet, inlay tray graphics and the silkscreened "car wheel" CD face art, round out the package.

noteworthy
Pixels+Points was recently awarded a Silver Medal in the 2007 Baltimore Addy Awards for their identity package. Printed as a one-color package with a blind emboss of the logomark, the stationery system included a business card, letterhead, policy envelope, notecard and CD/DVD packaging. Look for more news and recent work on the way. Congrats to the team.
